Auto Import XML

New Update: Auto Import Jobs

Back in 2015, we announced our Auto Import Jobs feature.

This powerful feature allows you to fill your job board with job postings from any XML job feed without any code. Jobs can be imported on an hourly, daily, weekly or monthly schedule from any XML source.

Many of you depend on this feature to automate a critical part of running your JobBoard.io site, saving hours of manual importing from ATS systems, HR software, job board networks and more.

Today, we’re making Auto Import Jobs even more powerful. We’ve added:

  • Intelligent Updates
  • Automatic Job Posting Removal
  • Smart Expiration and Republishing

Intelligent Updates

We now intelligently detect changes in the XML feed and transfer these changes straight your job board.

So if a job updates in the XML feed, it’ll now update on your site at the time of next import.

Example:
If an employer changes the job title of job in the feed, it’ll change on your website too.

Automatic Job Posting Removal

If a job is removed from the XML feed, we’ll remove it from your job board too. These guarantees your job postings are always fresh.

Example:
If an employer finds the perfect candidate for a job via your job board and removes the job from their ATS system, it’ll be removed from your job board too – without any action from you.

Smart Expiration and Republishing

If a job has previously expired on your job board but is added to the feed again, we’ll now treat this a new job posting. This allows employers to refresh or repost job listings in the feed.

Tips on using this new feature

  • If you’re already a JobBoard.io customer, no action is needed from you for this new feature. Your feeds will migrate to the new importer automatically.

We plan to continue to build on this improvement over time with more features that are useful to you. If you have feedback or feature suggestions we’d love to hear them – click the ‘chat’ icon and let us know your thoughts!
